Your goal will be focused on delivering memorable experiences to users in dozens of languages other than English. Working closely with translators and engineers, defining quality metrics and proposing changes, will be your main activities. Also, you will lead the selection of new frontiers for expansion, choosing the next language and accepting the challenges these choices will embody on the localization front.
Drive the localization project process from start to finish, internally and externally, keeping track of projects across different teams, and coordinating the work of dozens of translators.
Define and track metrics to measure the success of existing and new localizations, and publish retrospectives to learn from and improve our processes.
Develop plans and document process, manage time, budget, resources and quality control.
Establish quality processes that ensure a great experience to users in the localized sites. Run usability and exploratory test sessions.
Identify and solve localization issues or disagreements, whether originated by the system or product specifications. Identify causes and perform corrective and preventive actions.
Relevant experience in localization, product management or related projects.
Multicultural studies or multicultural background
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Project management and leading complex initiatives on tight timelines
Fluency in non-English languages is a plus, the more the better
Understanding the limitations of our technology and working around them
Working alongside a team of inquisitive overachievers
Managing constant change and sudden growth
Giving and receiving candid feedback
You will be expected to remain in this role for three years. The knowledge you'll gain may then enable you to become:
