Developing new ways of making work fulfilling for humanity
What we do
Torre Research is the branch of Torre that focuses on applied research. We are creating platforms and solutions that will be used by hundreds of millions of people to make their work fulfilling. Our teams effortlessly combine science and engineering activities.
Our main areas of applied research are behavioural economics, graph theory, game theory, social marketing, crowdsourcing, and machine learning.
Why we do it
Technology innovation is the reason behind the existence of Torre. It's at our core. Our team has been the first on many fronts, including being the first to build a marketplace for the voice over industry, we were the first in the marketplace arena to program a flow-control mechanism that limits the number of offers that buyers get while increasing quality, the first to pay artists for participating in online contests even if they didn’t win, the first to build an end-to-end crowdsourcing marketplace where the experience of the client could be controlled with predictable pricing, quality, and timing, and the first to receive the MIT Technology Review’s “Top Colombian Innovators of the Year”. And we are just getting started. The success of our projects fuels our future.
How we do it
Our teams are given ambitious goals and often compete amongst themselves. When a team builds a product that gathers significant traction, it graduates as a fully-fledged brand of Torre.
We use multiple methodologies, including design sprints, developed by Google, braintrusts, developed by Pixar, do things that don't scale, proposed by YCombinator, and discovery sprints, developed by us.
Some of our inventions are patented for defensive purposes. Members of Torre Research are properly credited in such patents as inventors.
We work in small teams composed of product managers, engineers, UX testers. Most of us have a technical and entrepreneurial background.
