The ideal candidate is a passionate software engineer who is eager to deliver both functional and user-friendly applications. You are hands-on from the start, and you can coach and support people at the same time. You are eager to be "on the field" (literally, we operate drones!) with the team to understand the needs and gather requirements. Designing scalable, enterprise-grade software and leveraging modern cloud infrastructure with microservices should be second nature to you.

Career path

This position will allow you to grow with a fast-paced tech company as a team leader in developing core technologies for the drone delivery industry. You will be mentored by the CTO of the company, Andreas Antener, founder partner of UAVenture AG, an experienced software engineer in the implementation and integration of complex distributed systems and flight control algorithms.

About the organization(s)

The company's vision is to develop core technologies for operational excellence, mirroring the high standards and safety of the civilian airline industry to grow the world’s first drone delivery airline to have an impact at scale. Aerialoop offers aerial bridges between urban and residential areas where food delivery is unavailable or takes a larger amount of transportation time. With integrated safety systems, the main value that Aerialoop brings to its clients resides in operational excellence, safety procedures, and technology systems. The company has partnered with Rappi, the largest food delivery tech company in Latin America, to pilot deliveries in Quito, Ecuador. The Rappi-Aerialoop team aims to expand the offer of food, medicine, and other consumer goods to suburban areas in larger cities in Latin America. Aerialoop solves a logistics problem of the delivery in places where the lack of transportation infrastructure or chaotic traffic makes ground delivery slow and inefficient. The company also extends the offer of popular food businesses and retail stores in residential neighborhoods with aerial bridges between geographically disconnected areas. The company comes from a combined effort brought by The Ecuadorian drone manufacturer, Latitude Aerospace Solutions and the advanced flight control software Swiss company, UAVenture. In addition to the experience of their founding partners, a top-level technical team, and senior Executive Board of Directors, Aerialoop envisions to be the next unicorn of Latin America tech startups.

Team culture

Aerialoop wants to reshape the future of mobility by opening new paths and encouraging smarter ways of living. All of that by making drone delivery ubiquitous. 1. Ownership What is the basic question that you are trying to answer? You own your developments, you are responsible for every aspect of them, regardless of the circumstances until they are solved or answered. 2. Agility and testing Rapid prototyping all aspects of the company. If we don't know, we test, learn, improve and deliver. We are not afraid to fail as long as we fail forward. 3. Methodical execution We are empowered to act, ask for resources, adhere to process discipline, and are held accountable to get results. 4.Lifting performance The company rewards results through compensation, recognition, and promotions, and deals effectively with underperforming employees. We perform at our best and expect the same from the rest.
