You evaluate your solutions using online metrics such as purchase rates, revenue per visit, and other metrics truly important to a retail business. You want to build things you can be proud of, and work with an international team of experienced, passionate engineers. • As a Machine Learning Engineer in the Search team, you'll be designing and delivering the models that are at the core of our ranking algorithms. From research and experimentation to productionizing and a/b testing, you will be working on all stages of result quality projects. You’ll help determine which metrics we need to optimize to keep customers happy, and which technologies we use to help users find what they need as efficiently as possible.

Additional requirements (other than skills)

• Have a strong foundation in statistics and machine learning in a production environment • Familiar with batch processing, parallelization methods & data warehousing concepts • Have experience designing and conducting offline evaluations and online a/b tests • Take pride in code quality and test coverage • Have worked at a high-traffic website and designed highly available and robust systems • Can work independently • Familiar with fundamental data structures & their tradeoffs • Pick up new ideas and technologies quickly, love learning and talking to others about them • Enjoy helping others around you grow as developers and be successful • Have experience working with search platforms like Solr or Elasticsearch.
