MakeSpace is looking for a Quality Engineer to to help revolutionize the $38 billion storage industry. With our full-service experience, forward-thinking tech, and easy-to-use app, we’re making space more accessible to everyone. Join us as we help people live more spacious lives in 31 cities across North America (and counting). Quality Engineers will work closely with product managers and engineers to drive QA processes through the entire lifecycle across all products, including desktop and mobile, as we grow and scale as a company. QA will be embedded within existing agile teams and focus on end-end testing, manual testing, automation and regression. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll manage initiatives for the QA engineering team and will help us continue to scale our business.


• The third hire in quality engineering; so you’ll have to be comfortable continuing to build this discipline. • Liaising with product teams on product quality, acceptance and requirements as well as triage and live escalations. • Driving quality through automation, metrics, data and process. • The quality champion advocating for quality in all aspects of product development and partnering with engineering to make it happen. • Testing multiple-weekly releases using a combination of manual and automation testing. • Equally adept at manual testing, test case creation and automation testing. • Looking for quality improvements with a combination of positivity and aptitude

Additional requirements (other than skills)

• You enjoy equally Manual testing, Web and App automation and you have been accountable for each of these in previous companies. • You have experience working in a product-minded organization - experience setting quality objectives. • Comfortable with multiple weekly releases to production. Ability to prioritize using different test frameworks. • You’re highly organized, an excellent communicator, and attentive to details. • Technical expertise in programming or academic credentials in the field. • You most of the following skillsets and eager to learn the remaining: • Web development technologies such as Python or Javascript or Java • Automation testing tools like Selenium WebDriver and Cypress • Demonstrated knowledge of test methodologies by writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging • Analytics and/or business intelligence tools such as Looker, SQL, or Google Analytics. • Project management tools like Clubhouse, Asana, Jira, Notion, etc.
